Vacancy Details

10% vacancies are reserved for Ex-Servicemen. A candidate can apply for only one post from amongst the above.

Age Limit

• All three posts - Head Constable (Lab Asst), Head Constable (Physio Asst), Constable (Nursing Asst cum Medic): Between 18 and 27 years.

Age Relaxation (beyond upper age limit):

• SC / ST: 5 years

• OBC: 3 years

• Ex-Servicemen: 3 years (after deducting military service rendered)

• Departmental Candidates (Central Govt.): up to 40 years (UR), 45 years (SC/ST)

• J&K and Ladakh domiciled (01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989): 5 / 8 / 10 years (UR / OBC / SC-ST)

• Children/dependents of 1984 riot victims: 5 / 8 / 10 years (UR / OBC / ST-SC)

Eligibility (Educational & Professional)

Head Constable (Laboratory Assistant)

• 12th class pass with Biology as a subject from a recognised Board.

• Certificate course of minimum one year in Laboratory Assistant Course from a recognised institution.

• Minimum 1 year working experience as a Lab Assistant in a Laboratory / Diagnostic Centre or hospital / institution lab recognised by the Central or State Government.

Head Constable (Physiotherapy Assistant)

• 12th class pass from a recognised Board.

• Certificate course of minimum one year in Physiotherapy from a recognised institute.

• Minimum 1 year experience as a Physiotherapy Assistant in a Physiotherapy Centre or in a minimum 100-bedded hospital / institute recognised by the Central or State Government.

Constable (Nursing Assistant cum Medic)

• 10th class pass from a recognised Board.

• First Aid certificate course from St. John's Ambulance Organisation or Red Cross Society of India.

• Minimum 1 year experience as Nursing Assistant in a minimum 50-bedded hospital / institution recognised by Central or State Government.

The candidate must possess all educational/professional certificates by the closing date of receipt of applications.

Application Fee

• UR / EWS / OBC candidates: Rs. 100/- (Non-refundable) - through Net banking / Credit Card / Debit Card / UPI.

• SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen and Female candidates: Exempted from payment of examination fee.

Selection Process

The recruitment will be conducted in multiple stages by SSB:

1. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) - Race for male & female as prescribed (Ex-Servicemen exempted).

2. Physical Standard Test (PST) - Height, chest, weight check (with category-wise relaxation).

3. Written Examination (CBT) - 100 marks, 100 MCQs, 2 hours; subjects include General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning, General English / Hindi. Qualifying marks: 50% (UR/EWS/OBC/ESM) and 45% (SC/ST).

4. Documentation & Skill / Trade Test - qualifying in nature; minimum 60% required.

5. Detailed Medical Examination (DME) and Review Medical Examination (RME).

Final merit will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the written examination only.

Pay & Allowances

• HC (Lab Asst) & HC (Physio Asst): Pay Level-4 - Rs. 25,500 – 81,100

• Constable (Nursing Asst cum Medic): Pay Level-3 - Rs. 21,700 – 69,100

• Plus Dearness Allowance, Ration Money Allowance, House Rent Allowance and other allowances admissible in SSB from time to time as per Government orders.

• Selected candidates will be covered under the Defined Contributory Pension Scheme (NPS) OR Unified Pension Scheme (UPS), applicable to new entrants to Central Government services w.e.f. 01 Jan 2004 and 01 April 2025 respectively.

How to Apply

2. Click on New Registration and create login credentials with a valid mobile number and email ID.

3. Fill the online application - Personal details, Educational qualification, Experience, Category, Aadhaar.

4. Upload passport-size colour photograph in JPG (4–12 KB, 100 × 120 px, white background, 75% face) and signature (4–12 KB, 140 × 60 px) as per specifications.

5. Pay the application fee online (UR/EWS/OBC) - SC/ST/ESM/Female are exempt.

6. Submit the form, note down the Registration / Application Number, and take a printout for future reference.

Applications received in any mode other than online will be summarily rejected.

Important Instructions

• A candidate can apply for only one post. Once a category is chosen, no change of category will be entertained later.

• Bring all original documents (Matriculation, 10+2, Lab/Physio certificate, experience certificate, Aadhaar, caste / EWS certificate etc.) plus self-attested photocopies at documentation.

• Biometric verification (both thumbs) will be taken at all stages of recruitment.

• Mobile phones, calculators, digital diaries, blades etc. are prohibited in the recruitment venue.

• No TA/DA will be paid. Unemployed SC/ST candidates may claim fare reimbursement subject to relevant rules.

• Furnishing wrong information or fake documents will lead to legal action and debarment from future SSB recruitments.
