Application Fee

• UR / EWS / OBC candidates: Rs. 100/- (Non-refundable) - through Net banking / Credit Card / Debit Card / UPI.

• SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen and Female candidates: Exempted from payment of examination fee.

Vacancy Details

10% vacancies are reserved for Ex-Servicemen. A candidate can apply for only one post from amongst the above.

Age Limit (as on closing date)

• Constable (Veterinary, Driver, Nursing Orderly): Between 18 and 27 years

• Constable (Gardener, Water Carrier, Cobbler, Tailor, Washerman, Barber, Waiter): Between 18 and 23 years

• Constable (Carpenter): Between 18 and 25 years

Age Relaxation (beyond upper age limit):

• SC / ST: 5 years

• OBC: 3 years

• Ex-Servicemen: 3 years (after deduction of military service rendered)

• Departmental Candidates (Central Govt.): up to 40 years (UR), 43 years (OBC), 45 years (SC/ST)

• J&K and Ladakh domiciled (01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989): 5 / 8 / 10 years (UR / OBC / SC-ST)

• Children/dependents of 1984 riot victims: 5 / 8 / 10 years (UR / OBC / ST-SC)

Eligibility (Educational & Professional)

• Constable (Veterinary): 10th class pass with Science as main subject + 1 year experience in treatment of animals in a recognised Veterinary Hospital.

• Constable (Driver): 10th class pass + valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License. (Only Male)

• Constables (Gardener, Water Carrier, Cobbler, Tailor, Washerman, Barber, Waiter): Matriculation OR equivalent + 2 years work experience in the trade OR 1-year ITI/Vocational certificate course with 1 year experience OR 2-year ITI Diploma in the trade. Trade test is mandatory. Multi-skilled candidates will be given preference.

• Constable (Carpenter): Matriculation + 2 years work experience OR 1-year ITI certificate + 1 year experience OR 2-year ITI Diploma. Trade test mandatory.

• Constable (Nursing Orderly): 10th class pass + First Aid certificate from St. John's Ambulance / Red Cross + 1 year working experience as Nursing Orderly in a 50-bedded hospital.

Nationality: Indian citizen for Washerman, Barber, Water Carrier, Waiter, Tailor, Gardener, Cobbler. For Driver, Veterinary, Carpenter and Nursing Orderly - Indian citizens, with provision for subjects of Nepal/Bhutan.

Selection Process

1. Stage I - Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

   • Male: 4.8 km race in 24 minutes

   • Female: 2.4 km race in 18 minutes

   • Ex-Servicemen exempted from PET.

2. Stage II - Physical Standard Test (PST): Height, chest and weight measurement (post-wise & category-wise relaxations apply).

3. Stage III - Written Examination (CBT):

   • Duration: 2 hours, 100 marks, 100 multiple-choice questions

   • Subjects: General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning, General English / General Hindi

   • Qualifying marks: 50% (UR/EWS/OBC/Ex-Servicemen) | 45% (SC/ST)

   • Final merit will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the written examination only.

4. Stage IV - Documentation & Skill Test:

   • Skill test of 50 marks, qualifying in nature; minimum 60% required.

   • Document Verification.

5. Stage V - Detailed Medical Examination (DME) & Review Medical Examination (RME).

How to Apply

1. Visit the official SSB recruitment portal https://applyssb.com/SSB_CT_25/applicationIndex.

2. Click on New Registration and create login credentials.

3. Fill the online application - Personal details, Educational qualification, Category, Aadhaar, Mobile and Email.

4. Upload passport-size colour photograph (4–12 KB, 100 × 120 px, white background, 75% face) and signature (4–12 KB, 140 × 60 px) in JPG format.

5. Pay the application fee online (UR/EWS/OBC) - SC/ST/ESM/Female are exempt.

6. Submit the form, note down the registration number, and take a printout of the application slip.

Applications received in any mode other than online will be summarily rejected. Once a candidate has chosen a category in the form, no change of category will be entertained later.

Important Instructions

• Bring all original documents (Matriculation, technical pass certificate, caste/EWS, Aadhaar etc.) along with self-attested photocopies at the time of documentation.

• Biometric verification (both thumbs) will be taken at every stage of recruitment.

• Mobile phones, calculators, digital diaries, blades etc. are prohibited in the recruitment venue.

• No TA/DA will be paid for the recruitment process. Unemployed SC/ST candidates appearing in written test may claim fare reimbursement subject to producing original caste certificate and a non-employment certificate from MP/MLA/Gazetted Officer.

• Furnishing wrong information or fake documents will lead to legal action and debarment from future SSB recruitments.
