Project Scientist - Essential: PhD in Zoology, Fishery Science, Industrial Fisheries, Marine Science, Marine Biology, Oceanography, Physical Oceanography or related subjects.

Project Scientist - Desirable:

  • Five years of experience in marine mammal taxonomy / biology / survey / stock assessment OR Fisheries survey and stock assessment OR Ocean Acoustic Studies with hydrophone data processing and analysis.

  • Proven experience in the relevant field with publications.

  • Experience preparing documents and reports of international standards.

  • Knowledge of statistical software packages such as R, SAS, SPlus and GIS will be given preference.

Young Professional - Essential: B.Tech / M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, Electronics and Communication Engineering or equivalent. Proven experience in cloud-based model training and deployment and in the development and launch of AI applications. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python.

Young Professional - Desirable:

  • Knowledge of R, SAS, SPlus and GIS.

  • Experience integrating Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Agentic pipelines and computer vision pipelines.

  • UI development using Streamlit or similar frameworks, plus HTML, CSS, JavaScript / TypeScript, React or Angular.

  • Backend technologies such as FastAPI, Flask, Node.js, Django or Ruby on Rails.

  • Proficiency in SQL, NoSQL, key-value, document-oriented and graph databases.

  • Version control with Git / GitHub.

  • Data processing and visualisation with Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn.

  • Ability to formulate and design innovative projects for the Fisheries sector.

Selection Process

Shortlisting will be done strictly on the basis of qualifications and relevant experience.
