Educational Qualification
Candidates must have passed Intermediate (12th) or equivalent from a recognised Board on or before 01 August 2025.

Bihar government servants with at least 3 years of regular service: 5 years (subject to other rules).

Selection Process
The selection is conducted in two stages:
Stage 1 - Written Competitive Examination (Qualifying)
Level: Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) Class 10 / Matriculation level.
Duration: 2 hours.
Total questions: 100 objective (OMR-based).
Total marks: 100.
Subjects: (1) Hindi, (2) English, (3) Mathematics, (4) Social Science (History, Geography, Civics, Economics), (5) Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Botany), (6) General Knowledge & Current Affairs.
Marking: 1 mark per correct answer; multi-shift exams will use the Equi-Percentile Method for normalisation.
Minimum qualifying mark: 30 percent. Candidates scoring less than 30 percent will be declared failed for the PET.
Shortlist: Roughly 5 times the category-wise vacancies will be called for the Physical Efficiency Test based on written-exam marks.
The written exam is only qualifying - its marks are not added to the final merit.
Stage 2 - Physical Efficiency Test (PET, 100 Marks)

Run timing slabs (Male, 1 mile): under 5:00 - 50 marks; 5:00 to 5:20 - 40; 5:20 to 5:40 - 30; 5:40 to 6:00 - 20; over 6:00 - fail. Female slabs follow the same 4-band logic over 1 km in 5 minutes.
Candidates failing any single PET event are disqualified and not allowed to attempt the remaining events. Three attempts are permitted in Shot Put and High Jump only.
Final Merit
The final merit list is prepared only on the basis of total PET marks. Tie-breakers, in order: date of birth (older candidate ranked higher), then educational qualification, then alphabetical order of name in Class 10 certificate.
